I give it a solid 7.5. It was much better than I thought it would be.

Standard 7, was a great episode but it always feels weaker when there's only one group

I give it a 10 based on Eugene alone. Whatever episode I thought was the funniest before (probably when Beth died), this is now officially the funniest episode. Thanks for the laughs, Eugene.

The bottle episodes take away the momentum of the show. It drives me crazy how they keep going back to them unecessarily. It should be saved for something unique, like the Governor's backstory in Season 4. This one could have been easily worked into other episodes too. I just can't look favorably on any of the bottles anymore unless it's focusing in on our main group.

I am landing somewhere between a 6.5 and 8. If pressed to vote now I would more than likely go with 7. While it was a good episode it was not as good as the previous two. The previous two episodes I would give a high 8 for episode 9 and a low 8 for episode 10.

Didn't quite "feel" like the Walking Dead to me either. Some of the little things Gimple does are cheesy too, like playing a song after Eugene jumped out of line and grabbed all the supplies. It takes away from the moment. Just not the same quality and production of the first two in 7B.

Pros: Dwight
It was nice hearing the merchant teach Eugene simple home etiquette. Too bad she folded in the end.
Indifference - Killing a Doctor in today's world is not a good idea. But, I understand why Dwight did it. He needed a scape goat for Sherry....and the man talked shit about his wife. He had to go.
Cons: Negan and Saviors are so dumb to believe that resume.
Eugene
Overall, first came Swear......now Hostiles and Calamities.
Gave it a 5

That would make way for variety in an episode as well.

That would make way for variety in an episode as well. Yes, Games of Thrones does an excellent job of it and they have a larger landscape than The Walking Dead. Imagine how choppy the narrative would be if episode one was all about Jon, two Dany, three Kings Landing etc. The whole show would lose its cohesiveness. That's why this last Negan/Eugene centric episode was frustrating. It could have easily been blended with the first two to make three episodes in 7B. In the first one you could have had Negan returning with Eugene and Dwight getting locked up, two could have focused on Eugene bonding with Negan's wives and three could have been the resolution with Dwight and Eugene's stories.
