I am one of those fans who has really enjoyed this season. Was it all perfect? No, but I still enjoyed the hell out of it. I still looked forward to every Sunday night. I was inspired by a video I watched on youtube so I thought it would be interesting to read about your favorite episodes of the season. The episodes that you will want to watch over and over while waiting for season 8. I was going to list my top three, but then I found that I needed to extend my list to my top 5. And even then I have others that I could add to the list. So here goes: 5. Hearts Still Beating (episode 8) - So much was going on this episode and I liked every bit of it. I loved that Aaron was out with Rick. I loved seeing Negan enjoying his day in Alexandria, shaving, cooking, getting slapped by Olivia. I loved the part with Rosita shooting Lucille. I LOVED watching Spencer meet his fate - no one likes a suck up AND a backstabber. 4. Service (episode 4) - I loved the intensity, grittiness, sorrow and the ever so slight moments of humor. 3. Hostilities and Calamities (episode 11) - Simply put I chose this episode because of Dwight. I loved, LOVED his moments of wandering around the house he shared with Sherry, reading her letter to him...I enjoyed getting to know about Dwight before the turn, about Sherry also. And just when I thought I was beginning to understand him he goes and throws doc carson under the bus in order to save himself I was right back to distrusting him. 2. First Day of the Rest of Your Life (episode 12) - This episode had it all. Thrills, chills, sadness, bittersweetness, surprises, and a freakin' tiger. I said goodbye to one of my favorite characters but damn she went out in style 1. The Day Will Come When You Won't Be (episode 1) - In the minority on this one? Possibly, but for me this episode was damn near perfect. Andrew Lincoln was flawless, JDM was chilling. The deaths were gruesome and heartbreaking. They were suppose to be. They were not meant to be tame. They were meant to tear your heart out, throw it to the floor and stomp on it. And boy did they. I also think it has, without a doubt, Lauren Cohan's finest moments ever. Her sobs while in the line up felt real. Her anguish and anger at the end of the episode was spot on. Rick flying from the roof of the RV was spectacular, Abe's peace sign, Glenn telling Maggie he would find her. I loved the episode. And because I can I offer up my three honorable mentions: Bury Me Here (episode 13) The Other Side (episode 14) Something They Need (episode 15) that still leaves 8 episodes. out of those 8 I would say that I really liked 6 of them and liked bits and pieces of the remaining 2 What about you? what are your top 3? top 5? or do you need to list top 7? I agree with your number 1. The Day Will Come when you won't be. Even though I had seen spoilers and knew who was dying, it was still just as bone chilling. The cliffhanger was horrible, but this episode is the most nerve wracking one in the WHOLE series.
Number 2 is First Day of the Rest of Your Life. Sasha went out in one of the best ways any Walking Dead character has ever went out. The episode was a homage to her. Loved when Rick told Negan that NOTHING will stop him from killing him and that moment you see Negan look scared when Rick says you're already dead. Shiva was AWESOME! Ezekiel was AWESOME! I just loved it!
Number 3 for me is Bury Me Here. Just left me in shock and threw me for a loop! Morgan and Carol are back and ready to go, and King Ezekiel is on board too! Loved it.

I'd go with:
1. Bury Me Here 713
2. First Day 716
3. Something They Need 715
I enjoyed the second half much more than the first, and was not a fan of the premiere.

1) Sing me a song. I loved the interaction between Carl and Negan. Negan tried to be a good host but just did not quite get the whole people have feelings thing. 2) Say yes. This reminded me of old WD when they had to scavenge and live rough....and that deer . I liked others but these are stand outs.

Oh man. Ok first, danae I am really surprised you put The Day Will Come... on your list. Although you were like me back then. Saying that it was by far the best episode of the series, that I will never watch again. Although since then I have watched it about 15 more times. LOL I literally have the entire dialogue memorized. Every word. So obviously that is my #1 as well. #2 would be Hearts Still Beating. Everything about this episode was good. Rick coming around. The tear inducing Rickyl reunion. Everyone taking a stand and RISING UP together. GREAT MSF. #3 Bury Me Here. I adore Morgan and it was so much fun watching his emotional twists and turns. Also, Carol finds out. #4 First Day of the Rest of Your Life. It's been a while since I have been excited and satisfied all throughout a SF and this one had me on the edge of my seat AND happy with the ending. I WOULD have felt that way about last year's...the intensity of just driving around looking for a way around the saviors didn't bore me at all....but....that ending. #5 The Well. Come on man THE INTRODUCTION OF SHIVA!!!! Loved Carol's reaction to her and to Ezekiel as well. Loved watching her steal things here and there. The real moment with Zeke. This was just a fun episode after just getting through the trauma of the premiere.

BUT even so I still firmly believe that it is, even with the level of violence, a beautifully executed (bad choice of word) episode. It will go down as one of my all time favorites

I also really enjoyed S7 and the many set up episodes for the AOW storyline. And I think I have some of the same favorites as others have listed.
1. The Day Will Come When you Won't Be. Hey, its where we finally got our answers to the horrible cliffhanger. And it shocked, saddened and angered millions. It even pissed off the FCC. I'd say that's a great episode.
2. Bury Me Here. One act by Richard set so many other things in motion that influenced major characters and affected Rick's group's chances against the Saviors.
3. Say Yes. Ever since Rick and Michonne became a couple, I had been wanting to see them out on a supply run together. Cheesy moments aside, I enjoyed seeing them slay walkers, protect each other and just survive out there as the badass couple they are.
4. Hearts Still Beating. Another huge cause and effect episode. The biggest cause was Rosita trying to shot Began. The biggest effect, the return of the real Rick Grimes.
5. Hostiles and Calamities. Sort of a bottle episode but I liked it a lot. It surprised me that I really enjoyed the dialogue in this one.

1. "Sing Me A Song" Carl got his arc. I remember fangirling over this episode!! Loved Carl and Negan in the episode.
2: "The First Day of the rest of your life" Episode was all I could hope for and I continue to rewatch it!
3. "Service" Very comic heavy episode and I loved every second of it and I felt just like our group.
4. "Rock In A Road" Loved the group meeting Zeke for the first time! Morgan and Rick meet again. And Gregory being annoying. Loved Ricks Story too!
Honorable mentions: The Day Will Come When You Won't Be Hearts Still Beating Say Yes Go Getters

As always, Danae, you ask a great question!
OK...#1: Hearts Still Beating. We needed to get Rick back. I don't think they needed an entire half-season to do it, but it was satisfying when it happened. #2: Things They Need: It was a great capture of the group's psychology: we don't want to hurt anyone, and here's how we've tried to keep the violence to a minimum. But we ARE going to take your guns. #3: First Day: Finally, Negan in retreat! Shiva killing bad guys! (How'd they train her to do that? Go after the villains, I mean? Did they launch a bottle of A-1 into the Saviors?) Sasha getting her glorious exit on! Carl having exactly zero fucks left to give after seeing Sasha's glorious exit! Woman who turned on Michonne taking a header!
"The Day Will Come"...I really don't know what to do with this one. It was certainly chilling and absolutely gutted our group. Maybe I'm looking at it through the lens of the rest of the season, but I can't watch Negan's entrance without cringing at all the leaning and hip-thrusting and affected speech. If I were in the line-up, I'd probably be thinking, "God, just shut up and club me already." I also thought Glenn's death was poorly done. Pick one: either show off your special effects by having his eye pop out; or go for the heart-ache by focusing on his words to Maggie. As it was, it just felt grotesque. But Lauren was amazing in this episode. The fact that SHE was the one who first knew they would have to fight, when she could have easily just folded--really powerful. Ditto the group telling her to please let them help her, please let them wrap Glenn's body. Ugh, and that final shot of the walker coming out and feasting on their loved one's brains...So a ton of reactions, but can't easily categorize them.
