You guys have such eclectic tastes. I on the other hand am quite vanilla when it comes to music. I love the "old" stuff - and for me that would be music from the 70s (Eagles, James Taylor, Jim Croce), but I am guessing that many of you consider late 80s music old stuff LOL.
I like my music just the way I like my wine - soothing, calming. Give me some Andrew Bird, City and Colour, Patrick Watson, Bob Schneider (for some "local" flavor), Sigur Ros and I am a happy camper.

Eddie, you slay me and then Matt comes in at the 1:50 mark - I die every time I listen.
This is one of those songs that I call "honest". It is a song that does not rely on pomp and circumstance. It is beautiful on its own, in its simplest acoustic form, and the lyrics about as close to perfect as a song can hope to deliver.

I remember when my cousin got his license and had to drive us to school, he would be blasting Tupac in the car. I was like 8 years old but I loved it.  I also used to like pop music, but haven't liked anything released for years now! This is why I still listen to old Mariah and others like Whitney Houston instead.  |

Rap from back then is seriously the best, especially Tupac, I loved all his stuff.
I think when Mariah, Whitney etc. were in their heyday nothing could touch them. Some of Whitney's best singing definitely came from when she did the soundtrack for The Bodyguard.

Just yesterday I took a trip down memory lane to the early 90s. Anyone Remember PM Dawn's "Set Adrift A Memory Bliss"? I listened to one song on Youtube and it lead me to that one. Which led me to their other hit "Looking Through Patient Eyes". I just remember those songs being so big back then.
