Do you remember your first time you saw TWD? I remember the show being advertised and I sat there for the premiere of the pilot episode. I had zero expectations. I loved zombie movies but as far as something to pass the time. There were other genres I liked more but zombie movies were pretty cool. Especially the comedies like Shaun of the dead and zombieland. And I think those were my fave because you can't really take zombies seriously. So I'm sitting there and the pilot episode starts and I have zero expectations. By the time Rick is saying "little girl" and the girl turns around and she's a walker, and then he shoots a kid in the head! I'm like, YUSSSS!!! ok. I was more like, wtf did I just see!!?? I stood up and went to my tv and stood in front of it, inches away and watched the rest of the episode standing up because I just couldn't contain myself. I was like. Wtf is this? This is better than any zombie movie I have ever seen and it's a tv show so this experience will continue!!! Omg! Orgasms everywhere! I was off to the internets to find out what I could. I discovered the comics and I read them all before the second episode was on the air. Between the pilot episode and episode 2, I had consumed everything that was twd. And so many years later, it's still such a huge part of my life that 95% of my Internet life is spent hanging out with twd fans lol. I really should try expanding my horizons

When I first watched the pilot episode I was blown away too. It was amazing and all I could think was damn this is gonna be good. Seven seasons later and it's like WOW I can't believe how it all started and this is where it's at now.

I remember trying to get people to watch with me because I was scared to watch alone lmao, then I watched and I was just kinda like meh it's pretty good. I watched all of season 1 in one go and then all of season 2 in one go because I completely forgot about it till it finished. Still thinking the show is just pretty good. Then I watched the season 3 trailer and idk what happened but I just clicked and became addicted, since then not a day has gone by that I haven't watched something twd related

I remember my first time, I had a boyfriend years ago. We went on a date....Oops! I thought this meant something else!
I actually heard about the Walking Dead from a friend and soon I heard it from a family member. It's funny how I seen the previous for "No Way Out" I knew I had to watch the series from beginning to where we are now. Something was telling to watch this series. I was hooked on the characters and the story. It being about Zombies made it so cool. Seemed like everybody is talking about this show! The comic is amazing.

Saw the promos.....who hates zombies? I loved the Pilot and loved season 1.
But, after coming back to the show and re-watching S1 years later I was left wondering what was so enchanting back then (not the Pilot). It wasn't bad but whatever held my breath back then seemed out of place for S1.

I missed the first airing of season 1 episode 1 simply because I had no knowledge of the series.
To work that Monday and a co-worker kept going on and on about the show and how I should give it a watch. At first I was like "meh, zombies? in a tv series? that sounds lame" She assured me that I would be hooked after I watched it, so I took her up on the challenge. Well, she was correct. I watched the encore presentation of the series premier and have not missed an episode since. Quite literally I have not missed an original Sunday airing of each and every episode with the exception of the first one.

I'll never forget seeing the first episode. Halloween night 2010. I knew about the comics but I literally had no clue they were doing a Walking Dead show. None.
I missed the original airing at 6PM or whenever it aired because I was out with the kids trick or treating, but they replayed it like 3 times that night. I get in, turn on the tube and I'm channel surfing looking for some good Halloween themed entertainment. I happened to hit AMC right right before it aired again and I hear the intro guy with the deep voice say "Stay tuned for the encore premiere of THE WALKING DEAD!!"
I'm like.... WHAAAAAAAAAAAT?!?!?!?
At first I thought it was just going to be a cheesy TV movie adaptation. So I click the info button, read the info, realize that it's a full on TV series. Hit the record series button on my DVR and watched the crap out of the first episode like 3 times that night. I still like the show a lot but nothing will ever compare to Season 1.

Hmm, well mine went a little differently, to answer the OP.
I barely watched AMC before I started with TWD, other than occasionally checking out the movies on there.
I kept hearing my coworkers talk about TWD and they were going on and on about how good it was and they kept saying I'd really liked it. I never even realized what it was about. I decided not to do too much research on it prior to watching.
About part of the way into the third season, I finally went on Netflix to start it, and saw they had it, so I began to watch it from the beginning.
It was like I found the TV show that I'd been missing since Smallville had ended in 2011. I was instantly hooked and watched the first two seasons inside of two weeks and then it just went from there. I've never missed more than one episode and if I do, I watch it the next day.
I can't believe it's been 4 years since I started watching it!

I have told this story so many times. LOL Ok so I had never heard of it. It was March 2012 (or whenever the mid-season premiere of that year (season 2) happened)... and a friend of mine mentioned it. I was never a big zombie fan so I was like meh. But she went on and on so I thought....ok fine. So I tuned in that following Sunday night, and it was Nebraska episode right after Sophia had come out of the barn. Of course I had no idea who Sophia was or why she was hanging out in a barn for so long, and how the hell no one could have known. LOL Although I had NO idea what was going on, I was memorized. Mostly by Shane and his abrasive attitude and how everyone seemed to love him but treat him like a bad guy too. So I finished out the season and then I was like, fuck. I must see everything I missed. Turns out the first half of season 2 was still On Demand so I watched that. Then I was like....fuck fuck....I need to see how all this started. So I found season one at Amazon Stream and watched that. By the time season 3 started I had no only caught up and started watching from then on in order instead of my patchy bassackwards way... LOL....I had also rewatched the whole thing in order while I got my sister and brother-in-law into it too! Hooked ever since although my sister and brother-in-law have become fair weather fans and make fun of me constantly.

I started watching on Netflix and in real time it was right before the Season 2 midseason premiere. Netflix only had season 1 and 2. So here I was on some site paying with my debit card to watch the first half of Season 3! So worth it though. Haven't missed a Sunday since.
