For a long while I have been growing tired of Carol. Her character, much like Morgan, had become stale.
Well that all changed tonight.
Morgan - no longer stale
Carol - no longer stale
But what now?
Will Carol be the level headed fighter I think or will she be blinded by revenge? Personally I think that is a simple answer. I believe that Carol will be the level headed fighter. She will want to do this the right way, the expedient way.
Morgan? Not as clear cut an answer for this one. I am completely taken aback by what transpired with his character tonight. This may prove to be an interesting journey

This is what so many viewers have been waiting to see. What would it take to get Carol and Morgan into the fight? Carol won't be driven by revenge. But as always by the need to prevent anymore of her family from dying. As for Morgan, I think he shocked the hell out of everyone in "Bury Me Hear". I'm so glad he did what Daryl could not and told Carol the truth. His challenge will be to not go back into "Clear" mode. But I think he will be fine. I know Rick will be glad to have Morgan on board to fight for sure.

Melissa showed tonight why she should always be given more to do, not less. Her recent behavior felt very 1-note, even though we knew enough about her to understand where it was coming from. But it was tough to watch her take--and rudely!--without giving anything, without engaging. But her scenes with first Daryl and then tonight with Morgan made me love her anew, and not just for the decision she reached: she was there, I could see her, if that makes any sense.
The scene where Morgan tells her about Glenn and Abraham is obviously critical, but part of what makes it so--beyond the mere fact of her knowing--is that he asked first: "You still wanna know what happened in Alexandria?" He doesn't walk up and blurt it out in anger, in "See what happens when people like us try to avoid it all?" fashion. He gives her the choice, and you can see her struggle before ultimately giving that ever-so-tiny nod. It tells me that Morgan, for all his grief and rage, is still there, still trying so hard to hold onto some vestige of Eastman.
Just huge character movement for all, including Zeke.

What now? More planning and talking. TF is too scattered now for any real attack. Everybody needs to be reigned in.

At some point the leaders have to get their asses together and come up with a plan of attack. Still so much we still don't know yet. Will the Scavangers really help our group? Will Oceanside be convinced to join in? And how bad will Sasha and Rosita's fail hurt Rock's group's efforts?

This may prove to be an interesting journey I absolutely loved the character transformations in the episode last night, one of the most well-written ones in a while. I think Carol will definitely be let's say, a more level-headed fighter. Why I think that is because of her time in her "Fortress of Solitude" for you DC fans, as I call it. She's had lots of time to reflect on things, and after taking in to account what Richard said and then the info from Morgan, I feel she knows that the approach to fighting the Saviors has to be very carefully considered. Why I also think she will be is her scene with Ezekiel at the end, when she said "We have to fight." and he said "Yes, but not today." And she immediately went over with him to Ben's brother without a another word to sit. To me that said it all. The fact that she didn't run willy nilly to the Sanctuary (unlike some other people will) like she did at Terminus also demonstrates her levelheadedness. Morgan...WHAT an amazing performance, first, by Lennie James. He stole the show, one of the best performances of the season. I think Morgan has many layers. What happened with Ben struck a chord that nothing else could up to that point, the murder of an innocent, someone who had become like a son to him, as referenced when he said "Dwayne" instead of "Ben". It's no wonder Morgan had flashbacks after that, he had PTSD from the loss of his son and wife and all he'd been through. But it's like The Rook said on Talking Dead, you can't go around in a world like that and not have to kill someone. What Carol did though, is she made sure he had time to breathe, to digest it all, just like she did. She wasn't telling him not to fight, but she wanted to make sure he fought with a "clear" mind. We saw him sharpening his stick into a spear at the end. He's still going ahead with his plan, but maybe in a more organized way. Lennie said in his call-in on Talking Dead last night that he would not call Morgan a "leader" but more an "unwilling fighter" when someone gave him the choices. I agree with that, Morgan has been "forced" into this by Richard and he knows that, and that makes him even angrier.

Not only that - Morgan just told Gavin that Richard wanted the Kingdom to attack them. But, the way it played out Gavin can interpret that Morgan killed him so that they will not have to fight. But, if I just saw a man kill someone with his bare hands...I wouldn't trust him. Oceanside will join TF, but I won't be surprised if the Scavengers are Negan's buddies or join with him during the war. I think Sasha and Rosita's attack will propel the end scenes from March to War and Negan's great speech. I always said that AOW 1 & 2 will be S8 & make it all the way to 9A. I just which they didn't bore the fu*k outta us along the way.

I am totally gonna post about this without reading all the comments so it's fresh.
I have been waiting for this forever. I have LOVED Carol's story. I have LOVED Morgan's story. come on, let's be honest....no one can be a badass killer all the time. We all have consciousnesses and we all have to reel ourselves in and keep ourselves in check. That's what they have both gone though.
And though it might not have made for great TV....I love the realism and am so glad they took us through this journey. They both have kept me mesmerized and now they are BACK.
I AM ECSTATIC!!!!

I thought the same. Aside from Richard the Kingdom group has been very peaceful. If suddenly this new guy kills the alpha member of the group in front of me, I'm going to start seeing him as a serious threat.

I didn't get to come here last week. But I am loving coming back and reading these posts!
I REALLY LOVED Bury Me Here. One of my top ten in the series. Melissa McBride is awesome! Lennie James was great too.
