Inspired by a discussion about Stephen King novels in the "Currently reading" thread by @hainted!
I'll just start with saying that my favorite King novel is Pet Sematary. It's one of the few where I felt the film adaptation was just as good as the novel.
For a non-horror work of his, "The Body" or as it is on film, "Stand By Me".
And GO!

My fave is Talisman....although it's been about 5-7 years since I read it last. I need to reread it again.
I love his short stories too...and my fave of those is called The Long Walk. Ever read?

I like The Graveyard Shift too.
I don't think I've ever read The Breathing Method though, I think I somehow missed Talisman.

On some of his less supernatural stories, I LOVED Delores Claibourne. Misery. Loved Under the Dome although I HATED how he ended it.
WAY TOO supernatural....I was a big fan of Tommyknockers.
Also....Needful Things and what the hell was the name of the one where someone was handcuffed to the bed?

I really liked that one. He pulls off one person stories well. Like Cujo too. I should reread Gerald's Game. That was a long time ago.

At my house we always joke in a Fred Gwen voice " We bury our own up here!" My son got tired of hearing it and asked to be in on the joke so I bought him a copy of Pet Semetary and made him watch the movie. He said the book freaked him out but he loved the movie.

I recommend everyone read On Writing. Stephen King's autobiography and writing course.

I've never read the book. But, movie - Pet Cemetery. I can still remember watching it as a young child. Could not look away.
Books - Thinner & Misery. The movies were good too.

I've read Pet Cemetary. Stephen King calls it his most frightening book. It was inspired by his young son nearly getting run over by a semi truck. When King finished the manuscript, he got so upset, he placed it in his desk drawer and left it there for over a year.
I've also read Misery, but I think King got carried away with Annie's brutality towards Paul. I also think the movie is better.
