Say what you will about the episode whether you loved or hated it, but that speech by Rick was fucking deep and emotional.
Michonne telling Rick she can't lose him and Rick replying that she can and he can lose her too. God damn I loved that exchange between them.
It's the calm before the storm!

It was beautiful and emotional. Of course all of Rick's speeches are great and add to that you have Andrew Lincoln delivering them - cannot go wrong

This is the new territory they need to expand on. In the beginning everyone was hurt loosing 99% of friends and family. Then they went feral/survival and it was just get up, eat, shit, sleep, repeat. Now Rick is recognizing we are back to feeling the loss more when it happens but we( Rick and Michone) have to be ready to take that loss of each other and step back up quickly. No more wandering in the woods or building farms with Hershel. Take your loss, feel it, but don't let it cripple you because the others need balanced leadership and those two are the groups best options for now.

I think I mentioned this in that other site but I love watching TWD and using it as a teaching tool for my son. They show so many dynamics of human relationships. He is 14 and has Aspergers. His main issue is processing what others think and feel. We watch the show for the scares and such but afterwards we have our own talking dead where we look deeper into actions and reactions and what is suitable or acceptable and what is not.

This is all about trying to rebuild the world now, for the future of humanity! And in order to do that people are gonna have to die. Just the same as when people go to war to fight for our freedom.

That was one of the best scenes ever on the show, IMO. It shows how full circle everything has come now. You can see how deep the connection is between he and Michonne, I never ever recall him being that way with Lori unless there was some sort of crisis. But, even then, this relationship to me is more real than what he ever had with Lori. Anyway...I agree, calm before the storm. OMG that look on Michonne's face when she thought the deer was Rick. I think it was good they set that up that way, it gave Rick's speech even more substance <3
