I don't like people to touch me in general. I have a 3 foot rule where if you are within 3 feet of me I am moving. My wife and son are the exception of course but everyone else who knows me knows I am not trying to offend I just don't like people that close.


My wife is a magnet for drunk chicks. If there is one around they will end up talking to her, especially strangers.   

Danae - that is absolutely terrible!! I've had the "lean on the desk" thing in the past and I stopped that, it was just getting to me too much.  UGH that is the most horrible smell too.  

I was diagnosed with anxiety a few years ago, and I know that doesn't help things, but the person who grabbed me was some guy I didn't know at a friend's bday party on Sunday.  It was such a great day and then this ONE guy decides he's going to drink like he's 21 and stumble all around.  He broke a small table they had outside from falling, as well as a wine glass and a wine bottle.  He had been chatting with me for a few minutes at the beginning of the party when he was sober, and normal.  After that, that was it as far as my interactions with him.  I'm getting ready to leave and my friend whose bday it was, was getting me cake out of the cooler to take home and someone just grabs my waist.  I jumped and then she jumped, and I turned around and it was him.  I was calm, but I told not to touch me, that I do not like people sneaking up behind me like that, especially if I don't know them.

He mumbled something unintelligble, then my friend's husband, who has at least a foot on this guy, came running in there and backed him out of the room when he saw what was happening.

I react to that even moreso because twice, I've been grabbed in...inappropriate areas let's say, at the bar in college.  Those guys just snuck it in and moved away so fast into the crowd and couldn't even try to find them.  I was SEETHING mad.

Anyway, I hate the "close talker" deal, just like you said Danae, I instinctively back up!!

thehainted I think I must be similar to your wife in that way, I seem to attract all the grabby people!!
