Will a little bit of bat shit crazy Morgan return? Ya know, just enough to shake him out of kum-ba-yah stupor Anyway share your thoughts? your predictions? but please no spoilers

I'm sure Carol knows Daryl lied to her about the Saviors treatment towards the group, but she returns to the Kingdom for confirmation.
The feud between Richard and the Savior Prick finally results in conflict between the Kingdom and the Saviors.
Morgan, sensing that the Kingdom is being dragged into Rick's upcoming war against the Saviors, leaves to attempt a peace negotiation with Negan. Knowing the chances for success are slim, he digs the grave with the hope his remains will be returned for a burial.

I can see it making sense that Carol has some idea that Daryl lied to her to some degree. And I can see her getting the truth out of Morgan.
I posted in the another thread that I believe that one of the saviors (actually that the prickiest prick of all the pricks in that group) is the one who dug the grave as a form of psychological terrorism on the Kingdom crew. He has threatened Richard at least twice with being killed. That guy is just biding his time, waiting for Richard to lose control just one more time. Ezekiel even speaks about it being amazing that anyone is still sane (paraphrased GREATLY). Anyway, that is my take on the grave.
Does Morgan fight? I really struggle with this one and for now I will say that Morgan reluctantly arms himself but I think that he still is unable to follow through. I think there is only one thing that can happen that will be the tipping of the scale for him and if it happens in this episode then we will see Morgan make a kill. And I think it will be a kill with a fair degree of revenge mixed in with a dash of survival. c Is Carol ready to fight? I do not think so. Will Carol fight? Yes. What that does to her may not be the outcome many fans are hoping for.
All crazy speculation on my part though.

That's all I live for now - to see at least 85% of bat shit Morgan return.
Carol woke up the next day and realized that Daryl face was bruised and he was more solemn than usual. Something is not right. Morgan will tell me the truth - he's found God, or Allah, or Ghandi, or Buddah, or just plain life is precious inner peace. She gets all the details -now she wants blood. Will she stay at the Kingdom or go back to ASZ or travel to the Hilltop with a Kingdomer as a guide?
But, at the end of the day I just want to see crazy Morgan again.

There are FIVE very awesome things that MUST happen this season. 1. I wanna see "I just killed and torched people because they had the flu" Carol make her return. 2. I wanna see "I just EXECUTED a crazy little girl at point blank range" Carol return. 3. I wanna see "I just shot a hole in a motherfucking propane tank and launched a bottle rocket at it and blew up Terminus" Carol return. 4. I wanna see "I just scared THE HOLY SHIT out of a little boy because he ate too many cookies" Carol return. Because THAT Carol is 2nd most badass mofo on the planet right now. The only person more badass is.... 5. I wanna see Morgan go into full blown Clear mode. If these two do what I hope they'll do, this will be amazing on every level.

I am thinking Carol may have dug the grave for herself.
It looks like she is returning to the Kingdom by the previews. She comes in and finds out what really happened to Glenn and Abe. Then once she finds out, she knows what she has to do. Carol is at the point that she doesn't want to kill, that's why she left her "family" behind. But if she does know what happens to them, she will be forced to go and try and kill whoever killed them, that being Negan. Carol knows how risky this is, so she decides to go ahead and dig her grave before leaving.
Ezekiel, Richard, Morgan and Ben find this out. Then somehow they may get to her and stop her before she does get herself killed. But could result in the death of one of them instead. I think Ben. Which then leads Morgan to get really pissed. Since he has been helping train Ben and all.
Then we see the Kingdom get ready to jump on board with Rick!

It is a Gimple move to have 3 women (Rosita, Sasha, and Carol) leave the group without notice and attempt something stupid like assassinate the current season's villain, but I hope that's not the case with Carol.
Man, I wish AMC would fire Gimple like a NASA rocket.

Carol - I got to see how they bring about her return. But, with the way this season has been going and her overall storyline lately I'm not expecting too much there.

Great thread, girlfriend!
I mentioned this elsewhere, but I think the grave is Richard's: he realizes he's pretty much on his own in terms of wanting to throw down with the Saviors. (Thanks, Morgan; like everyone else on the planet, I rolled my eyes when you offered up that half-assed "But people might get hurt" response to Rick and Michonne, even after hearing about Glenn and Abe.) Richard leaves for the delivery fully intending to start something, anything, to get the Kingdom off its semi-delusional ass. But Jackson04, I really like your theory about Carol. It would be so in keeping with her to plan her exit as you described. I also think you're onto something re: Ben. He's the brave, hopeful, truly good soul who wants only to help, so he's a gonner. According to the rules of Character and Plot, his death serves to unite disparate factions around a common cause (in this case, take on the Saviors) in his name.
Like others here, I think Carol knows something's up re: the group. I hope we get to see what prompts that fear, since she seemed so willing to believe Daryl when he told her. Her relief felt genuine to me, but did she suspect something even then? I really hope the exchange b/w her and Morgan includes a clash of philosophies, as she berates him for advocating pacifism in the face of such homicidal lunacy. Does he then counter that at least he helps (working, training Ben, etc.) as opposed to taking and absenting herself from any responsibility? (Clearly, I spend way too much time envisioning dialogue.) Whatever awaits us, I'm beside myself with excitement. Seriously, I'm sitting here beside myself, typing with 4 hands.

I don't think it's a grave at all. They're making a Kiwi Hāngi. Going to have some meat and potatoes for tea.

I also think that the grave is Richard's. He said he'd die for the Kingdom and Daryl told him to go right ahead. I think he's taking Daryl up on his comment. I took from the photo that the grave was in the Kingdom. Richard is the only one for whom the Kingdom means anything.
I also think that Carol will fight whether she's ready to or not. I did sense some foreshadowing in her comment that "there would be nothing left of her" if she did.

I am so excited for tonights episode. All the questions I have surrounding what could possibly happen. All of those questions have given way to a plethora of possible scenarios. My mind is running amok with possible happenings and outcomes.
Who else is really pumped for this episode? Brandon Davis (of comicbook.com) christened it as unbelievably great.
Who is going to join the live reaction tonight?

Happy to be here!
I think Carol will fight and fight hard, as she has indicated, once she hears that Glenn and Abe are dead and what Negan did to Daryl. I do think that her statement that there will be nothing of her left may foreshadow her death at the end of the war. I don't see her as a suicide, but perhaps a self-sacrifice in order to save a child. I think they've been building that for awhile.
I love Carol, so I hope not, but I could see this maybe at the end of next season.
